Programme overview

The IASSC Lean Practitioner programme builds a practical foundation in Lean thinking and equips participants to identify waste, improve flow, standardise work, and support measurable operational improvement. Participants learn how customer value, the eight wastes, 5S, visual management, process mapping, pull systems, root cause analysis, PDCA, and performance measures work together to create more reliable and efficient processes.

  • Apply 5S, visual management, standard work, and basic process-mapping techniques
  • Use root cause analysis and PDCA to investigate and address process problems
  • Define practical KPIs and actions that help sustain improvement results

Participant readiness

  • No formal prerequisite is required by PeopleCert
  • Basic understanding of workplace processes and operational challenges is helpful
  • Participants should be willing to analyse a real or simulated process during the course

Who this course is for

  • Operations, quality, service, IT, administration, and process-improvement professionals
  • Team leaders, supervisors, analysts, coordinators, and project team members
  • Employees beginning a Lean or continuous-improvement learning pathway

How the course is delivered

This programme will be conducted through interactive lectures, Lean simulations, process-observation activities, value-stream and process-mapping workshops, group discussions, case studies, structured problem-solving exercises, knowledge checks, and a practical improvement scenario.
