Programme overview

The IASSC Lean Six Sigma Green Belt programme prepares participants to lead functional DMAIC projects, analyse process data, verify root causes, reduce defects and waste, and implement controls that sustain measurable improvement. Participants develop practical capability in project definition, measurement systems, capability analysis, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression, Lean flow tools, FMEA, solution pilots, control charts, and change leadership.

What participants should gain

  • Lead a DMAIC project from charter development through control and handover
  • Design reliable data-collection plans and assess measurement and process performance
  • Select and interpret suitable statistical tests, capability measures, correlation, and regression
  • Apply Lean tools, risk analysis, pilot testing, and solution-selection methods
  • Develop control plans, use SPC concepts, manage stakeholders, and communicate project results

Participant readiness

  • No formal prerequisite is required by PeopleCert
  • Yellow Belt knowledge or equivalent process-improvement experience is recommended
  • Comfort with basic mathematics, spreadsheets, charts, and workplace data is beneficial

Who this course is for

  • Process-improvement practitioners, analysts, engineers, team leaders, and project managers
  • Quality, operations, service, IT, supply-chain, finance, and transformation professionals
  • Professionals expected to lead departmental or medium-complexity improvement projects

How the course is delivered

This programme will be conducted through interactive lectures, DMAIC case studies, process simulations, team-based problem-solving, data-collection exercises, statistical interpretation, process-mapping workshops, improvement experiments, and a practical project scenario. Spreadsheet, Minitab, or Python-based analytics demonstrations may be used where appropriate to reinforce descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, visualisation, and experimental-design concepts.
