Programme overview

The IASSC Lean Six Sigma Black Belt programme develops advanced capability to lead complex cross-functional DMAIC projects, apply rigorous statistical methods, optimise processes, govern benefits, and guide organisational adoption of continuous improvement. Participants deepen their use of measurement-system analysis, capability, advanced hypothesis tests, regression, experimental design, FMEA, Lean flow systems, SPC, control planning, stakeholder leadership, coaching, and financial validation.

What participants should gain

  • Lead complex DMAIC projects and apply disciplined tollgate governance
  • Evaluate measurement systems, process capability, sampling, and advanced statistical evidence
  • Use hypothesis testing, regression, ANOVA, and designed experiments to validate critical factors
  • Integrate Lean flow, pull, SMED, TPM, FMEA, and mistake-proofing into improvement solutions
  • Establish robust SPC controls, validate benefits, manage change, and coach improvement teams

Participant readiness

  • No formal prerequisite is required by PeopleCert
  • Green Belt-level knowledge or equivalent project and statistical-analysis experience is strongly recommended
  • Participants should be comfortable with spreadsheets and interpreting quantitative process data

Who this course is for

  • Experienced improvement leaders, quality managers, process excellence professionals, and senior analysts
  • Engineers, project and programme managers, transformation leaders, and operational managers
  • Professionals responsible for cross-functional projects, coaching Green Belts, and sustaining enterprise results

How the course is delivered

This programme will be conducted through interactive lectures, DMAIC case studies, process simulations, team-based problem-solving, data-collection exercises, statistical interpretation, process-mapping workshops, improvement experiments, and a practical project scenario. Spreadsheet, Minitab, or Python-based analytics demonstrations may be used where appropriate to reinforce descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, visualisation, and experimental-design concepts.
